| As summer vacation begins, children will be spending more time outdoors enjoying the warm weather, riding bikes, scooters, and playing with friends, throughout our neighborhoods.
We would like to remind all motorists to slow down and stay alert while driving. Children can be unpredictable and may enter the roadway unexpectedly while chasing a ball, crossing the street, or riding their bikes and scooters. Taking a few extra seconds and reducing your speed can help prevent a tragedy.
As summer activities increase, we also encourage everyone to practice good fire safety:
🔥 Never leave grills unattended while cooking.
🔥 Keep grills and fire pits away from homes, decks, and combustible materials.
🔥 Ensure campfires are completely extinguished before leaving them.
🔥 Stay hydrated and take breaks during outdoor activities, especially during periods of extreme heat.
🔥 Make sure smoke alarms are tested and working properly.
