| First arriving crews confirmed smoke showing from the second floor, with no answer at the door. With assistance from Township of Hamilton Police Department, crews made entry into the residence. Upon investigation, firefighters located a pot burning on the stove. The stove was shut off and the pot was safely removed. Crews then conducted ventilation operations to clear the smoke from the residence. Once conditions improved, the alarm system was reset and all units were placed back in service. π₯ Fire Safety Reminder π₯ Incidents like this are a strong reminder of how quickly everyday cooking can turn dangerous: β’ Never leave cooking unattended β even for a short time π§― Have the right extinguisher: β οΈ Important: Never use water on a grease fire β it can cause the fire to spread rapidly.
