Last night was out monthly drill where newer firefighters were able to learn equipment and the older firefighters were able to advance their training. Last night members were able to set up our portable ponds, utilizing Tanker 38 and Tanker 39 using dump valves to fill the ponds. Cologne firefighters were also able to assist with these operations and using Tower 18, firefighters were able to draft water from a static source of the pond with Engine 33 and pump water to Tower 18. Cologne Engine 52 was able to set up on the secondary pond, drafting and pumping water to a hose line. Using Tanker 38 and 39 firefighters were able to dump water, go to a fill site and dump water again to sustain a continuous water supply. Training is a big part of what we do to keep proficient in our skills.
