| ” So, what exactly goes into testing an air pack? 🔧 Each SCBA is thoroughly inspected and tested, including the cylinder, regulator, facepiece, hoses, valves, alarms, and other components. The equipment is checked to ensure everything is functioning properly and within required specifications. 💨 Our SCBA cylinders are also inspected and tested to ensure they can safely withstand the pressures required for firefighting operations. 🧑🚒 Why do we do this every year? When our firefighters enter a structure fire, they are relying on this equipment to provide clean, breathable air in an environment that can contain extreme heat, smoke, and toxic gases. There is no room for equipment failure. Annual testing helps identify wear, damage, or potential problems before the equipment is needed at an emergency. This is just one of the many behind-the-scenes steps that goes into keeping our members safe and making sure we are ready to answer the call. A huge thank you to MES Fire for helping us keep our life-safety equipment properly tested, maintained, and ready for the next call! 👨🚒🚒 #LaureldaleFireRescue #FireDepartment #FireRescue #SCBA #AirPacks #FirefighterSafety #FirefighterLifeSafety #EquipmentMaintenance #AnnualTesting #FirefighterGear #AlwaysReady #StaySafe #VolunteerFirefighters #AtlanticCountyNJ |
