It was a busy period for our members as they responded to two separate fire incidents, one providing assistance to a neighboring community and another within our Township

Call #26-242
Crews responded on a mutual aid assignment into the Dorothy section of Weymouth Township for a fully involved structure fire. Personnel assisted crews on scene with fire suppression and overhaul operations and remained on location for approximately two hours before returning to service.

Call #26-243
Shortly after, crews were dispatched with Mays Landing Fire Department to the area of the trestle bridge off Reliance Avenue for a fire involving the bridge structure. Utility 18-34 arrived on scene and deployed a handline to extinguish the fire, while Engine 18-33 supplied water to support firefighting operations. The fire was quickly brought under control, preventing further extension and damage. Dorothy Volunteer Fire Company was called to assist with their marine unit and hit hotspots from in the water.

These incidents highlight the importance of mutual aid partnerships and maintaining trained personnel and equipment ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
